WIRE CLASS

 

Please read all general rules and the following rules for this class;
 
A.) Any American or Foreign made automobile except Chrysler Imperial,Hearse or Suicide Lincolns.No all wheel drives will be permitted.

B.)Body:
1. Remove all glass, mirrors, plastic, and decking in wagons. Please remove all fiberglass header panels.All of this should be removed BEFORE arrival to event.
2. NO tucked wagons!!!
3. Trunk lid must remain at least 50% in stock location.Cars may be pre bent after inspection.
4. Anything can be Removed Nothing can be Added.
5. NO WELDING unless it is stated.
6. Hood and Deck lid will be open for Tech upon request. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
7. Doors are to be wired shut with the exception of the drivers door. Drivers door may be welded with a 6 inch weld. No other welding will be allowed.
8. Hoods and trunks will be allowed 6 pieces of #9 wire,4 loops per wrap.All wire must be from sheet metal to sheet metal only.
9. All Body mounts will remain original with the exception of the front 2 core support bolts.These may be changed to no larger than 3/4 in. They must not be used for anything other than a core support mount and must not proceed to the top of the support.Any other broken mounts may have #9 wire 2 strands ran through the body and the frame. You will also be allowed to wire body to the frame in 4 other locations anywhere in the car.

C. Frames
1. NO WELDING AT ALL!!!

D. Drive train
1. Any motor may be used in any vehicle. Motor must be mounted on stock mounts,no aftermarket cradles or protectors will be allowed. On all V block engines,#1 spark plug must be no further back of upper ball joint. No standard transmissions unless factory for that make of automobile. No homemade cross members,must be original. 
Please remember we are trying to bring back a cheap class for EVERYONE to enjoy. 

2. Motors must be Bolt in Only. NO WELDING with exception of frame side motor mount 
3. Rear-ends are to remain stock factory for make and model being derbied.  Spider Gears only may be welded. Rear coil springs may be wired in to hold them in place.Leaf spring cars may NOT add any spring clamps.
4. Floor shift is allowed.
5. Exhaust through hood is allowed.
6. No protectors of any kind; distributor,transmission or rear end!!!
7. Stock automobile drive shaft for vehicle you are running.You will be able to cut and weld a stock shaft. No pto or sliders!!!!

E. Driver Compartment
1. A (4) four point,floating cage will be allowed.Dash bar,seat bar and 2 sides.No further back than 6 inches behind drivers seat.A rollover bar is recommended but must not be welded to frame.
2. Padding of drivers door recommended.
3. Gas tank and one battery must be relocated and secured.
4. NO Trans cooler other than the O.E.M Radiator.
5. Firewalls may have hole cut for distributor clearance.If cut out you MUST have a floor mat or some sort of cover over this area.

F. Bumpers.
1. Any automobile bumper may be mounted on any car. Bumper may be welded to shock bracket.No other welding of bumper allowed.
2. Shocks may be collapsed but may not be welded.
3. ONE piece of chain per side BOLTED may be used to secure bumper. These chains may run around bumper and be bolted back to an existing bolt on the frame. May also run 2 loops of wire,out board of radiator,from radiator support to bumper.These 2 wires will not be part of the 4 used on securing the hood or trunk.

G. BRAKES MUST SHOW THE ABILITY TO STOP. All cars will be checked at inspection.Any car without brakes will not be allowed to compete!!!
H. We will offer a claim rule on engines in 2013......any driver may claim a driver that finishes in front of them at the conclusion of the feature event. Motor claim will be $500.Claim must be made to head flagman within 5 minutes of conclusion of race and must be in cash in a envelope with car number that is being claimed.
Claim will consist of;
 Top of the air cleaner to bottom of the oil pan. Water pump to flywheel. Things not included will be,starter,headers,any fittings that are an accessory,alternator,pulleys and fuel pump. Please remember this when building for this class. Engine is to be removed within 1.5 hrs of conclusion of event by person making the claim.Any acts of vandalism to engine after claim will result in prosecution to the fullest of the law. There is no refusal to sell engine......

THIS CLASS IS STOCK STOCK STOCK IT SHOULD ONLY TAKE YOU 3 DAYS TO BUILD A CAR FOR THIS CLASS.
